LEAVEN

Mission: To empower people in crisis by providing financial assistance, resource coordination, and case management to guide them toward stability.

No one is immune from financial emergencies, but not everyone has the resources to weather a crisis. LEAVEN helps bridge the gap between hardship and hope by ensuring people have their most basic needs met. We work with individuals and families to identify the need and develop an actionable plan for both short and long-term goals.

LEAVEN helps people who reside in Outagamie, Calumet, and northern Winnebago (Neenah and Menasha) Counties, and New London residents living in Waupaca County. Our programs are open to a broad spectrum of people, without discrimination.

LEAVEN is supported generously by local individuals, churches, businesses and foundations.

LEAVEN helps ensure that people can meet their most basic needs. We provide financial assistance to those who have no other resources to draw from in order to cancel eviction, prevent utility disconnection, secure affordable housing, repair a vehicle, maintain health insurance, or otherwise address the emergency need of the household.

LEAVEN volunteers and staff work together to offer support and referrals to families. LEAVEN volunteers are instrumental in all facets of our programming and client interactions. On a daily basis, LEAVEN depends upon 20-25 volunteers serving in various roles for 3-4 hour shifts to meet the needs of our clients. Volunteers receptionists greet clients, schedule appointments, and help answer questions. Our volunteer interviewers meet with clients and conduct client interviews to help determine where the greatest needs lie for each specific case. Volunteers also serve as case managers, researching each case to make the best decision possible to financially assist our clients.
