Prevent Suicide Fox Cities is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Fox Cities since 2009. The organization is run entirely by volunteers. We have a four prong approach to preventing suicide and suicide attempts:
1) Awareness - removing the stigma of mental illness, offer accessible resources, target 'mental fitness'
2) Gatekeeper Training - QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)
3) Education - Crisis Support (link to resources), Resource Library, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month (September) and International Survivors After Suicide Loss Day (November)
4) Survivors After Suicide Loss Support Group
a) Survivors After Suicide (SAS) is a support group offering help for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. The group is led by trained volunteers who are survivors and understand the different feelings this type of loss brings. You can safely share your feelings or just listen. Everything remains confidential.
All programs we offer to the community are free of charge. We exist through financial grants, donations and fundraising. We also host national speaker.
