The Outagamie County Nutrition Program serves meals to individuals who are 60+ years old. Meals are served in two different settings: congregate and home-delivered. Congregate meals are offered at five different locations: Hortonville, Kaukauna, Oneida Heights (Appleton), Seymour, and the Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center (Appleton). Home-delivered meals are offered throughout Outagamie County.

Days and hours can be at your agreed upon discretion.

Love Lake Winnebago? Want to get outside, get your hands a little dirty, and make a real difference? Join us for one (or more!) of our Shoreline Volunteer Days at Columbia Park in Malone or Marble Park in Winneconne. We’ll be removing invasive species and helping native plants thrive—all part of our ongoing effort to restore the health and beauty of our shorelines. No gardening experience needed. Blood Drive Registration is one way that you can help at the Community Blood Center. The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others. Volunteer orientation and training are provided.  As a Registration Attendant, you will value and appreciate our donors, and ensure they review the online blood donation materials and complete their personal health history questionnaire, prior to their blood donation. NO medical experienced required.

Do you love talking to people and saving lives in the process? Then volunteering at The Community Blood Center is the place for you!

As a volunteer at our Little Chute site, you both check-in blood donors for their appointments and serve donors refreshments. The goal of the role is to welcome donors and ensure that donors are feeling well and healthy after their donation. 

The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others. This position is such a rewarding one as you are taking care of our donors to ensure they have a great experience and look forward to their next visit.

We are looking for a sweet therapy dog who you think would do well with visiting with our hospice patients. Under our pet therapy program, your specially trained dog would be able to provide companionship to our patients. Pet companionship can bring our patients a sense of peace, comfort and trust.

Pet therapy volunteer program requirements: Owner must complete patient volunteer orientation.

With that, we're seeking a volunteer to teach this class one evening per week for 1 to 1.5 hours.

We are seeking a new leader for our Y-Not Chorus Group. The Y-Not Chorus is a group comprised of senior adults all with various singing abilities that want to share their love of music with others. Their main purpose is to bring joy to those is assisted living environments by providing musical performances. The group typically practices on Friday's at Gloria Dei Church in Neenah, with various performances throughout the year, especially during the holidays.

The leader of this group would be in charge of conducting, working with the pianist to choose musical selections, as well as working with the rest of the group to determine schedule and performance dates. Binder of sheet music and lyrics provided. Currently, the group practices and performs mainly in Neenah, with various performances throughout the Fox Valley. 

Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people? Fox Valley Literacy is always seeking volunteers to assist with transportation for students learning English. Some of our students face challenges getting to class, and your support can make their education journey possible. If you are available to help transport students to and from class in Calumet, Outagamie, Waupaca, or Winnebago counties, please consider volunteering your time. Your kindness and generosity will have a lasting impact on their learning experience.

Childcare volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Volunteers must enjoy working with kids and have strong boundaries. Our childcare program runs Mon-Thurs. nights from 6-8pm and Saturdays from 1-3pm. Volunteers sign up for any shifts that work in their lives. Help is especially needed Mon. & Tues. nights because of support groups that run at the same time. A victim’s first point of contact is a critical step in the healing process.  As an on-call SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Volunteer, you will learn to:

Due to the extensive training, we ask volunteers for a 6 month commitment. Typically, each volunteer will be on-call two to three nights a month. Typical on-call hours are: 5:00 pm-7:00 am Monday-Friday and Weekend/Holiday hours. You do not need medical training to be a SANE Volunteer.

Actively seeking veterans who would like to support veterans and families who are on ThedaCare's Hospice Service. Activities could include administrative/clerical tasks, veteran recognition and support, socialization, companionship and supportive presence.

The House Helper volunteer position involves assisting with household tasks, and aiding the residents of Vida’s maternity home, Trinity House. The role of a House Helper is a unique position in which female volunteers are able to develop relationships with moms and children alike. This particular role requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young children. Volunteers also need to be able to be examples of God’s love and speak of God’s truth and grace.

Elder Match is a program dedicated to matching volunteers with residents living in the community 60 years or older to connect via phone calls, in-person visits, or written communications. Volunteers are needed to drive seniors age 60+ to shop, medical appointments, beauty shop, or visit with friends in the city of Oshkosh and in the Fox Cities communities.  This personal service is provided by a volunteer using their own car and gas.  Scheduling is flexible.  Volunteers may sign up for a 1/2 day a month or on call as needed.

All our Support Services clients receiving parenting education can request childcare for their appointment. Our childcare volunteers interact, supervise, and play with children in our on-site childcare room. This role is extremely crucial to our programming so that we can better serve our clients by providing them with the opportunity to get a break and have privacy for their appointments.

Are you passionate about recycling and looking for a way to make a direct impact on your community's green footprint? Join us as a Mobile Volunteer with Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste!

We need volunteers to help tag contaminated recycling carts. You’ll be part of a team following behind recycling trucks as they pick up curbside carts. When the driver spots items that shouldn't be in the recycling—such as plastic bags, scrap metal, electronics, or other dangerous materials—they’ll radio back to us, and you’ll place an “Oops Tag” on the cart to notify the resident.

What You’ll Do:

You'll be accompanied by an Outagamie County staff member who will handle driving. This is a great chance to help improve local recycling efforts and make a positive environmental impact!

We are looking for Veterans who interested in providing companionship to our Veteran hospice patients. For many Veterans, the opportunity to share their stories can be fulfilling and often contributes a sense of fellowship, life closure and peace. If the volunteer is a Veteran, the sharing can be all that more powerful. Veterans may want to share their stories with someone who understands what they went through. They feel connected by hearing other Veteran stories. They gain validation and understanding in a very special way from another Veteran.

We are looking for compassionate, kind, and caring individuals who would like to visit our patients and provide companionship. As a hospice volunteer you could: Read a book to them, watch movies, and socialize as if they were a long-time friend.

Volunteer visits typically are done once or twice per week for 1-2 hours at a time.

Visits are completed where the patient lives. This includes private homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

Be part of our awesome decon team!  This group goes into homes or businesses that will be remodeled or torn down and salvages items that can be sold at Habitat ReStore or recycled.  For example, one of our most common decon projects is to take out a kitchen from a home that will be getting a new kitchen.  We then sell that old kitchen set at ReStore.  All funds get funneled back into various Habitat housing solution programs locally.  

Join us and aid in the artful removal of donations from residential and commercial buildings! Help remove a full kitchen set or empty out a retail store! All salvaged items are then brought to and sold at the ReStore to raise funds  for Habitat for Humanity.

Deconstructions are typically scheduled Monday, Wednesdays from 8am-12pm.

We have equipment that we use at each of our family’s fundraisers or
rental items that at times need to be repaired, painted, or created. Along with
re-purposing of items to sell in our Online store. We need individuals
who are good with either fixing things and/or good with building/
working with wood, crafty, like to paint, etc…

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of painting, mechanical, crafty, creative
and good with wood would be helpful but required.

TIME COMMITMENT: Assist as needed basis for specific projects/
repairs.

Volunteer at Celebration of Support events assisting with raffles, silent auctions, kids games, bake sale, serving food, grilling, etc. Volunteer opportunities would depend on the day and type of the event.

We are looking for some help at our front desk/check out area. Our most immediate need in on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm-5pm and Saturday afternoons from 12 - 4pm. We also would like to fill a few more "floater" cashier positions. These are volunteers who step in to fill in for our regularly scheduled volunteers when they need time off. Retail experience would be helpful for these positions, but not necessary. We are always happy to train new volunteers! Are you experienced with dogs and have a few hours each week to spend providing care to the dogs who temporarily call Saving Paws home?

Shifts will include let-outs to our back runs, kennel cleaning, feeding, watering, walking and socializing.   As time permits you can also work with the dogs on basic commands like sit, stay, down, leave it, so they are better prepared and socialized for their new forever home.

Schedule:We have 4 shifts per day:  Morning: 8am or earlier, Mid-Day: 11-1, Dinner:  3-5pm and Evening: 7-9pm.   

On-boarding: Once you complete general orientation, we will partner you with a trained volunteer who will show you what to do.  You will shadow that person for several shifts until you are comfortable to be on your own. 

We use an on-line scheduling tool called Volunteer Matters for sign ups. The best part is you choose a time that works for you – we do not have regular open hours.

You must be 18 or older to volunteer with the dogs. If you are younger than 18, you can volunteer with an adult or guardian.

Our dog care volunteers are rewarded with wagging tails, happy barks and doggy playtime. Our dogs are always excited to see our volunteers.

Due to an overcrowding situation: We are also looking for dog lovers who are willing to foster until he or she finds their forever home.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin matches an adult volunteer mentor with a young person who WANTS a mentor in their life. Matches are made based on compatibility and interests. You will enjoy friendship and fun with your Little!

The kids are between the ages of 6-18 years old. Matches meet 2 times per month up to 4 times per month.  

In the community-based program, matches enjoy get togethers that do not require spending a lot of money. Matches do things like get outdoors, play some sports, take bike rides and walks, head to the nature center, play board games and cards, cook and bake together, build things, go to community activities around town, attend free library programs, come to our BBBS events, and just talk and laugh. 

The site-based program happens on a weekly basis at the Little's school during their lunch break. Matches eat together, play games, work on puzzles or art projects, talk and share photos, and enjoy the time together becoming friends. Matches only meet when school is in session.

Mentors must be 18 years old and plan to be matched at least one year.

The Appleton YMCA-Service Club meets twice per month (September through April) at the Appleton YMCA. Members develop a program schedule, which includes community speakers, Y staff presentations orienting members to Y programs, social events and planning fundraising events to help the YMCA support innovative, impactful programming for youth, adults and families. Projects include: Childcare Playground projects (May/June), Camp Clean-ups (May/August), Christmas Tree Sale (November/December), and Pancake Breakfast (February). 

Volunteers are needed for many outdoor tasks such as tree trimming, trail maintenance, brush removal and more. Hours and dates are flexible and weather dependent, with most occurring in the spring and summer. Individuals and small groups can be easily accommodated. 

Appleton YMCA Early Learning Center would welcome volunteers to read to the children or lead an art project. Times available on any Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 9-11 AM. Staff will provide reading and art materials, we just need your energy and smiles!

Appleton, Fox West, Heart of the Valley and Neenah-Menasha YMCA locations are looking for your help! Youth Sports Coaches provide skill development in a variety of sport leagues. Work with our youth to instill our character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Provide these young athletes with a good role model for sportsmanship and teamwork. SVDP Neenah welcomes court-ordered community service. Background checks will be performed. Registered sex offenders and anyone with retail theft in the last 5 years will not be allowed to volunteer. SVDP reserves the right to deny any application.

Planting Partners must be able to keep clear records, comply with organic agricultural practices, and work cooperatively with others from diverse backgrounds. Physical tasks include things such as bending, kneeling, lifting (generally 35 lbs. or less independently), standing, and using hand tools for gardening. At CASA of the Fox Cities, we'll teach you how to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. If you are a good communicator who wants good things for children, this could be an excellent opportunity to truly make an impact. No special experience is required. We provide initial and ongoing training and support. 

As a CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, you will be part of a team of people advocating for the safety and well-being of youth and children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

One of the most important results of your service is laying the foundation for resilience. Your continued presence in their lives tells them they are worthy of your time and attention. This feeling of worth is the building block of resilience that will help them overcome adverse childhood experiences.

Statistics show that the presence of just one consistent adult helps children who have experienced trauma. Could you be that person?

The best way to discover if advocacy could be right for you is to check out our website and attend an information session. These one-hour sessions are held remotely via Zoom. You will learn about our organization, and things to consider about becoming an advocate including training, how much time you’ll need, and so on.

We only train advocates 4 times a year. Our next training session begins in July 2024. Join us! Together, we'll bring the light of resilience to children who are waiting for their advocate.

We are looking for Volunteers that can help us work with the children in our program on reading, writing and math.  We are part of "Math Hoops", an NBA Math program under the Milwaukee Bucks division.  There is volunteer online training for Math Hoops.  VOLUNTEERS may also need to help work with children on basic math skills, tutor them 1 v 1 or possibly check in with their teachers regarding academic status.

Most of the kids in our program, but not all, live on or below the poverty line.  We use basketball to keep them on track academically, involve them in Community events that build character, and the children have fun through basketball training and a competitive level of basketball game play.  Our program starts where other community programs end, providing doors of opportunity for the future of these children.

You do not have to have been a teacher to volunteer, patience and caring are enough.  However, we would welcome any retired teacher or anyone with a teaching background that could help us.
