Volunteer: Bilingual Job Search Assistant (Spanish/English)

Appleton Public Library is seeking a volunteer who is bilingual Spanish/English or with conversational  Spanish skills to provide help to people searching for a variety of career and employment related needs.  Volunteers meet with job seekers at a table close to a service desk to assist job seekers with building a resume, general career exploration and job searches. 

Duties could include one or more of the following:

Providing employment assistance, training and resources to people looking for work Teaching patrons how to set up accounts and use online resources for employment, training and education Finding resume templates and/or assisting with creating resumes Listening attentively and asking open-ended questions to help patrons identify and articulate job skills  

Typical Qualifications

Experience with hiring, computers, human services and/or job coaching especially helpful.
Passion for helping others in our community Respect of individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities Ability to provide friendly, patient instruction and assistance Proficiency with a variety of computer skills, including: navigating websites and search engines, Microsoft Office Suite, various internet browsersAble to work shifts for a minimum of 2 hours on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon (please inquire to learn specific times)Training will be provided
