Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

Do you like algebra and geometry? Do you use them at work, or are you currently a college or high school student studying advanced math courses? We'd love to talk with you about an opportunity to be part of a team of volunteers providing math homework help at drop-in in library sessions on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Qualified candidates: 

Have a current working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and geometry Are able to provide patient, friendly and non-judgmental instructionAre passionate about helping students in our communityAre respectful and non-judgmental for individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilitiesAre proficient navigating websites and search engines (for tutoring resources to refer to students)Are able to volunteer at least four, two-hour Wednesday shifts at the library between mid-September and mid-December

APL is seeking volunteers who: 

Has experience in hiring within retail, manufacturing, skilled trades or health industries OR in coaching individuals in job searches at a human services organization very helpful Is respectful of individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities Has the ability to provide friendly, patient instructions  Has proficiency with a variety of computer skills, including: navigating websites and search engines, Microsoft Office Suite, various internet browsers Is willing to learn how to use Google Translate during our orientation (or is bilingual) Is able to work a weekly shift of 2 hours. We're particularly looking for volunteers able to take a 2- hour shift on a Mon, Tue, Fri, or Sat.
