Volunteer will be involved with a variety or fundraising activities to generate charitable funds to enhance Ascension Calumet Hospital's patient care and improve the community health status. 

 Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with fundraiser events throughout the year. Call local businesses to solicit donations. Assist with the selling of products for fundraiser events.

Volunteers greet and provide information to visitors and patients. This assignment provides patient wheelchair escort at discharge, delivers supplies and equipment to and from nursing units and ancillary departments and assists with special projects. Duties include answering information phone, delivering flowers, transporting patients and visitors, keeping the lobby area tidy. If you are caring, energetic, and able to push patients in wheelchairs this is the area for you. Volunteers are needed during the weekdays 7 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. -noon, noon - 4:00 p.m.

The Calumet Hospital Gift shop is a cheery place to spend time as a volunteer and a great place to shop.  Volunteers greet customers, handle sales via money/checks/credit cards, replenish the candy supply, and dust or straighten as needed. Weekdays - 9 am - 2 pm

Spiritual Services needs volunteers to distribute the Sacrament of the Eucharist to patients.  Ministers can serve any day of the week. Volunteers are required to be a Roman Catholic Eucharistic Minister approved by the Bishop or Bishop representative.

Volunteers who enjoy making craft items are wanted to create crafts, knit or sew items for sale in the Gift Shop, for special events or to be given as gifts to patients/families.  Areas include blankets for cancer and other patients, walker bags, and other projects. Depending on the item, volunteers can either work at the hospital or make things at home.
