Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

The Outagamie County Mentoring Program works with the youth in the community who need us the most. We match kids with adults who help them out just by being a friend and spending a few hours a month together. A successful match is life changing for both the mentor and mentee! The youth in our program are between 6-17 years old and have been referred by a social worker from Outagamie County Health and Human Services.

With 30 kids currently on waiting list,  we have a great need for more volunteer mentors.  Mentor matches spend a minimum of 4 hours a month together developing a positive and trusting relationship the youth can rely on. Mentors expose youth to new and positive experiences that enhance self esteem and improve social skills. We find that many mentors enjoy getting to be a kid again with their mentee!

If you mentor with Outagamie County, you will receive all the training and support you need to make your match successful. We sponsor several events each year for our matches and also reimburse for mileage.

We currently have a 6-year-old girl from Kimberly waiting to be matched with a mentor. This energetic little girl loves animals, drawing and playing outside. She also likes gymnastics and getting her hair done. She is excited to spend time with a mentor!

We currently have a 14-year-old boy from Kimberly waiting to be matched with a mentor. This young man lives with his mother and is excited to spend time with a male mentor. He has a variety of interests including hockey, snowboarding, board games, building projects and spending time outdoors. When he grows up he’d like to be a welder or a mechanic.
