Our Traveling Closet takes our mission on the road -- bringing FREE clothing to communities that don't have access to us or a similar resource. As a Traveling Closet Shopping Assistant volunteer, you will have the opportunity to attend our Traveling Closet events, helping clients navigate their shopping experience with ease. Whether you can commit to one event or several, your participation will be greatly valued and will contribute to a warm, welcoming environment for all our clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

Offer friendly support to clients while they shop Help hold shopping bags for clients Organize bins of hangers and racks of clothing; keep space tidy Assist with packing up/cleaning up after event ends

Role Requirements:

Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled distribution event (most distributions begin at 3:30pm and end at 5:30pm)  Standing and moving around for entirety of event Effective interpersonal communication skills Must have reliable transportation to meet at the distribution location (locations will vary across Berlin, Oshkosh, Clintonville, Chilton and Waupaca --- YOU CHOOSE your events!) Compassion and patience for serving a diverse clientele Some fluency in Spanish and/or Arabic as a second language is helpful but not required!

If you like working with people face-to-face, enjoy staying active and are passionate about serving your community, we have a great position for you! We're seeking a Donation Desk Attendant that can help on Monday evenings from 5:45pm - 8:00pm. 

Primary Responsibilities: Greet donors and help carry in donations as needed Guide donors and show them where to place donationsHelp pre-sort donations into various categoriesAnswer donor questions & encourage them to fill out donor cardsLearn & provide information on what we accept, what we don't, and an overview of our missionSizing undergarments or other small misc. projects when not busy

Role Requirements:
Arrive promptly for door opening at 6:00pm; shift ends at 8:00pm Standing, bending, lifting and walking around repetitively Ability to lift boxes and bags of donations up to 40lbs Compassion and patience

 Volunteer | Community Clothes Closet

Do you love clothes and love to organize!? This role might be a good fit for you!

Floor Restock & Refresh volunteers help us keep the shopping floor replenished, organized and shoppable for clients. This volunteer role will involve re-stocking clothing on our shopping floor, reorganizing by type and size and color coordinating items.

Role Requirements:

Arrive at 9:00am for start of shift on Fridays; end of shift by 1:00pm (we can be flexible!) Physicality: Prolonged standing, walking, carrying, lifting and hanging multiple items of clothing overhead Ability to assess quality of clothing and read clothing tags for sizes

If you love SHOES and people, we have a position for you! We're seeking a Shoe Sorter that can help on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays in the morning each week at 9:00am for a couple hours. 

Primary Responsibilities: Sort through shoes, checking for quality, some cleaningSize shoes with stickersRestock shoes on the shopping floor Pack away shoes that we will donate forward

Role Requirements:
Arrive by 9:00am; shift ends between 12:30 and 1:00pm (we can be flexible!)

Position is a blend of sitting, standing and walking with repetitive bending

Ability to lift small to medium sized boxes of shoes

Good eye for detail; able to read shoe sizes 

Familiarity with popular fashion brands is helpful!

If you enjoy working with clothing, like to stay active and are looking to meet new friends, we have a great position for you! We have multiple open positions for Clothing Hangers on Mondays from 12pm-2pm.
Primary Responsibilities: Hang clothing from bins onto racks Size clothing; double check for qualityHelp hang by size, color, and categoryHelp restock our shopping floor
Role Requirements:
Volunteer weekly on Mondays 12pm-2pm Entire shift spent standing, bending, lifting up overhead and walking around Ability to read clothing tag sizes Some knowledge of clothing and trending fashions is helpful but not requiredAbility to work well within a team
