Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

Assist the team at the Waupaca Area Chamber & Visitor Bureau with managing the visitor center. Tasks may include answering phones, providing referrals for area businesses, events, or activities, coordinating brochures in the visitor center, selling gift certificates to members of the public, and other general office duties.

Position Overview

Bethany is seeking friendly, dependable volunteers to help with one of our residents’ favorite activities, Bingo! 

Ideal Candidate

·      A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.

·      Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with the elderly, including those with hearing or memory loss.

·      Reliability and consistency in attendance.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Active Participation: Help create a welcoming environment by greeting residents and socializing.

·      Collaboration: Work with Bethany staff to identify residents interested in attending Bingo.

·      Resident Transportation: Assist residents in wheelchairs or walkers from their rooms to the game room. (helpful but not required)

Time Commitment

Shifts are currently available on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

The shift begins at 1:30pm and ends at approximately 3:15pm. 

All volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB test. 

Position Overview

Bethany has several church services held throughout the week at the Bethany Chapel. Volunteers are needed to help bring residents to and from church services. 

Ideal Candidate

·      A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.

·      Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with the elderly, including those with hearing or memory loss.

·      Reliability and consistency in attendance.

·      Candidates must be independent, physically able to push wheelchairs.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Resident Transportation: Assist residents in wheelchairs or walkers from their rooms to the chapel.

·      Active Participation: Help create a welcoming environment by greeting residents and socializing.

·      Collaboration: Work with Bethany staff to identify residents interested in attending services.

Time Commitment

Shifts are currently available on Wednesday and Sunday mornings.  

The shift begins at 10:00 am and ends at approximately 12:00 pm. 

All volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB test.

Fox Valley Literacy has urgent volunteer tutor needs in Clintonville and Waupaca. We currently have two students in Clintonville waiting to be placed in a beginner English class on Saturdays. In addition, there is one male student in Waupaca at an intermediate English level waiting for a Saturday class. Please email Heather@foxvalleylit.org if you can help.

Fox Valley Literacy needs English Language, Reading, and Computer volunteer tutors to teach one-on-one or small-group classes. We currently have opportunities during the week and weekends. Waupaca Area All-Stars is a recreational program designed for individuals ages 5-18 with physical and/or mental disabilities. We host dozens of events throughout the year, such as art workshops, wheelchair basketball, bowling, pizza night, swimming, and lots more! Volunteers are an integral part of this program from working 1:1 with the youth to helping lead events.

Hospice volunteers are needed to assist in caring for terminally ill people and their families. Hospice volunteers provide companionship including visiting, listening, assisting with meal times or simply being a loving presence. The location of this volunteer opportunity is the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.

Girls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is seeking troop leaders for many schools, grades, and communities throughout the Fox cities, Oshkosh, Waupaca and surrounding areas. Troop Leaders plan and implement activities and mentor girls.  Troops typically meet 1-2 times per month though out the school year.  Meeting time and locations are flexible and can be customized based on volunteer's schedules.  We have many girls who would love to join a troop, and are just waiting for a leader to step forward!

Make a difference in the lives of your neighbors, build relationships, and have fun as an English tutor! We are working with a group of 25 extremely motivated adults and need to add a class for intermediate learners. 

We're looking for a volunteer to teach one evening per week for 1-1.5 hours. 

No need to know any other languages or for teaching experience. We provide training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support.
