Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

Volunteer: Back to School

Help students in Outagamie County start the school year prepared and confident. The Back to School Program provides backpacks and essential supplies to children in 4K through 12th grade, ensuring every student has what they need for a successful first day of school.

The Back to School Program has supported local students since 1990 by providing backpacks and school supplies to children in need across Outagamie County. Donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and community groups make it possible to serve hundreds of students each year.

Students in grades 4K through 12th can receive supplies if they live in Outagamie County or are referred by staff. This program helps ensure every child starts the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Getting involved is easy and makes a meaningful impact. Community members can donate new backpacks or school supplies, organize collection drives, or contribute financially to support the program.

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at:

Volunteer Services
500 W. 5th Street
Appleton, WI 54911

Monetary donations can be made by check payable to:
Outagamie County – Back to School Program

Backpacks are distributed before the school year begins. Donations are especially helpful by mid-July, but are accepted year-round.

Volunteer: NOAHH (Neighbors Offering A Helping Hand)

NOAHH (Neighbors Offering A Helping Hand) is a partnership between community members and Outagamie County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to assist DHHS clients to meet their needs. NOAHH partners are generally organizations with a membership base, but individuals are welcome as well.

Here's how it works:

A county worker alerts the Volunteer Coordinator to a need. The coordinator then reaches out to NOAHH partners to help fulfill that need. Needs may include new or gently used furniture, kitchen items, bedding, clothes, etc. There is no time commitment - just share the need with friends and coworkers to help find the needed item. Being a NOAHH Partner is an easy way to fulfill your mission of serving others in the community. Become a partner - sign up on our website! NOAHH

·        Body lotion

·        Body Powder

·        Body wash

·        Body spray

·        Bar soap

·        Hand lotion

·        Shampoo

·        Conditioner

·        Toothbrushes

·        Toothpaste

·        Floss
