Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

Help clean up the flower beds and around the Rotary pavers in the Rotary Riverside Park. Pulling weeds, racking up and bagging the debris, and spreading of mulch.

Volunteers should bring work gloves and garden tools. 

A range of abilities can be accommodated. Lightest work involves sitting on a low wall weedging, planting, and mulching. Hardest work involves loading, wheeling, unloading, and spreading mulch.

Open to any age capable of being next to the water safely.

Meet in Rotary Riverside Park in the shelter, then move from park to park and clean up the river's edge. Other parks might include Brainards Bridge, Riverside, and Eco Park. Volunteers need their own transportation between parks.

This project will be outdoors, and volunteers will pick up garbage and debris along the riverside. Brave volunteers can bring their waders and/or river shoes and wade along the edge of the river. Sunscreen and water bottles are strongly recommended.

Volunteers must bring their own gloves, water shoes and or waders (if wanted) - they will not be provided.

The Student Council and National Honor Society members have organized a collection point/drive to benefit the Waupaca County Humane Society. There will be a drive-through donation point set up on the King Road/North side of the building with a tent to collect donations from the community. There will be 4-6 student volunteers, and 2 adult volunteers are needed to help with the event.

Please bring work gloves for loading/unloading, sun-protective clothing (hopefully!), water bottles, and sunscreen.

Adults only.

Help clean and beautify the Historical Society buildings! Volunteers will meet at the Hutchinson House that morning (in South Park), receive instructions, meet the lead volunteer, and then head out to various locations.

Hutchinson House Museum: Rake leaves and clean up gardens (2 volunteers); paint steps in front of the King Cottage (2 volunteers); clean Hutchinson House sign and clean outside of first-floor Hutchinson House Museum windows (2 volunteers).

Holly Center: Rake leaves and clean up gardens around the Holly Center (2 volunteers); clean Holly Center signs (2 volunteers).

Depot: Sweep and clean steps up to the Depot (2 volunteers); clean outside of Depot windows and clean Depot sign (2 volunteers).

Adults or teenagers can volunteer with a guardian.

Wear comfortable clothing, shoes that can get a little dirty, and bring garden gloves.

Volunteers will visit and socialize with members who live at King. They may also do a tabletop activity or play a game provided by the activity staff in a common area of the residence hall. The volunteer coordinator and activity staff will provide introductions to the members and initiate the activity that the visiting volunteer and member agree upon. This will be an introductory experience for community volunteers to see firsthand what is involved in doing a one-on-one social visit with our members who live at King. Activity is indoor and seated at a table.

Volunteers may want to bring a water bottle.

Children age 5 or older are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Meet in the main lobby.

Assist the Waupaca Area Public Library with spring cleaning. Volunteers are needed for dusting and cobweb removal as well as cleaning in youth services, including cleaning LEGO bins, toys, games and more.

Volunteers will need to be able to stand for an extended period of time as well as be able to do some kneeling or bending.

Help with the annual suicide memory walk (in honor of those who have died by suicide). Volunteers will be stationed along the walk site to help in case walkers run into any problems. Must be able to walk and stand for up to an hour. No advanced preparation. Arrive shortly after 9 and ask for Sandi Moore.

Wear comfortable footwear (probably not sandals). Bring sunscreen and a hat depending on weather. Water is provided. The walk will be held even if it is raining or cold. Must be 18 years old to volunteer.

Volunteers may want to bring cash as a Pig Roast to benefit the coalition is being held afterwards (optional).

Share a piece of your home with the Arts Hub! Bring 3–5 native perennials to be planted in our front flower beds and help create a space that will grow and flourish for years to come. Volunteers will work together to clean up the front beds, pulling weeds, preparing the soil, and planting beautiful perennials. Have extra plants? We’ll gladly take them! Any additional plants will be sold to the community, with proceeds supporting the continued development of the Arts Hub’s backyard space. Together, we can grow something beautiful!

Volunteers will be outside, so please dress appropriately. Bring gloves, shovel, and any plants that you want to share.

Skills: None, willing to get dirty

No age restiriction. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers will help clear away brush, branches, and small trees. The goal is to clean up, provide access for the fishing bumpouts, and beautify the Challenge The Outdoor Trail. We will also repair the trail and bumpouts with limestone and wheelbarrows.

Bring work gloves, work boots, water bottles, bug spray, and loppers, if you have them.

You must be physically able to conduct the necessary work.

Volunteers will place markers for the Teal Trail. This includes metal markers and painted markers. The trail spans 1.3 miles within the City Center. The Teal Trail is part of the River Ridge Trail System and includes 5 city parks.

Adults only. Please bring walking shoes, water bottles, sunscreen, and bug spray. Wear clothes that can get paint on them.

Outdoor clean-up (weather permitting) such as raking leaves, tidying grounds and washing windows. Indoor clean-up such as wheelchair washing, washing windows etc. Please wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. Bring work gloves if you have them.

16+ is required for independent participation, under 16 may participate with a parent/guardian.

Waupaca Chain Skiers received a donation of brand new outdoor furniture that has arrived in boxes. Volunteers will help assemble this furniture. Skills required include basic use of tools like a screwdriver or power drill. Volunteers will also clean up winter debris including raking and picking up sticks.

Chain Skiers will have some tools available, but could use more - battery operated power drill or screw drivers.  Lawn rakes would help. Clothing should be for spring weather outdoor yard work.

Directions to the project site: Please take Hwy QQ and turn onto Grandview Road. Do not enter through the main gates. Drive down Grandview Road. As you curve around in front of the lake, you will see a parking lot on the left side. Park in that lot and you will be directed down a path to our practice site on the shore of Rainbow Lake.
