Nature of Work: Assist library staff with organizing, preparing (including set-up and/or take-down), and/or day of program help at the library or other community location. Volunteers help create a welcoming environment while supporting activities for children, teens, adults, and families.

Essential Job Functions:
- Welcome and assist program participants and visitors warmly
- Assist with set up and cleanup of program spaces, materials, and equipment
- Support library staff during events, workshops, story times, and community activities in various ways
- Help prepare crafts, supplies, handouts, and activity materials
- Monitor program areas to ensure a safe, organized, and respectful environment
- Provide basic information about library services and event
- Support outreach activities and special events as needed
- Refer patron questions to staff as appropriate
- Alert staff when program / event supplies are low
- Operate simple equipment
- Sign in and out of shifts
Requirements of Work:
- Friendly, dependable, and able to work well with diverse groups of people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with library staff
- Ability to stand, walk, lift 5-10 lbs, and assist with event set up (if applicable to program)
- Present a neat, clean, and appropriate appearance

- Pass a background check
Training Provided: The Library will meet with volunteers as part of the orientating and onboarding process. Forms, expectations, and programs of interest will be discussed during the initial meeting.
