When you give your time as a volunteer with St. Croix Hospice, you join a team of individuals dedicated to providing patient-centered care and comfort during advanced-stage illnesses. Hospice volunteers offer companionship, compassionate help and support for patients and their loved ones when they need it most. Volunteers provide an empathic, respectful and caring presence for patients and their loved ones.
The St. Croix Hospice team provides exceptional hospice care with an emphasis on quality of life. When you join our team as a volunteer, you are making a difference in the lives of individuals and families right in your own community. St. Croix Hospice has a variety of virtual volunteer opportunities available.
Companion Volunteers meet patients in their homes (either a facility or the patients home) and provide emotional support, friendship, and companionship to patients. Read books, watch movies, have a spa day- it's totally up to you and your patient!
Schedule your patient visits on your time- we are flexible! Enjoy fringe benefits and continuing education opportunities. Training is provided and 24/7 support always available. Join a great team and make a difference in someone's life.
To become a volunteer, you will need to: have a TB test (we provide one if you haven't had one in the past year), sign consents, pass a national and caregiver background check and complete online training modules.
