Role of the Volunteer
Staff support
- Assemble surgical bags and binders with items as instructed by Orthopedic staff.
- Track number of bags and binders completed each week.
- Notify staff when supplies are short, or if you have questions.
Responsibilities of all volunteers
- Follow the standards of the ThedaCare volunteer program and ThedaCare policies and procedures.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain scheduled hours of service.
- Attend new volunteer orientation and complete annual volunteer in-service.
- Promote safety.
Position Requirements
Experience
- Ability to assist patients and guests without discrimination or bias of personal opinion, experiences, beliefs, or offering advice of a medical/professional nature.
- Ability to make sound decisions in crisis situations.
Physical
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
- Ability to use hands for long periods.
- Ability to hear conversation and overhead paging at a normal range.
Specific Training
- Initial training by Volunteer Specialist and Orthopedic Department
