This is a great opportunity to facilitate hands on learning and ideal for anyone with a passion for financial literacy that enjoys working with students. Training is provided each day prior to student arrival. We need up to 12 volunteers each day that students are on site. They work hard as a producer in the JA BizTown economy during the morning and will switch into the role of a consumer in the afternoon as they spend their hard-earned money on goods and services around the town. This is an invaluable "real-world" experience for students from all over NE Wisconsin. As a JA BizTown volunteer you will be assigned to a business where you will support a small group of students/employees through their day at JA BizTown. Volunteer: On-Call Volunteer AdvocateReach Counseling provides crisis intervention and emotional support 24/7 to survivors of sexual assault and their friends/family with the help of Volunteer Victim Advocates. Volunteer Advocates are on call nights, weekends, and holidays when the Reach office is closed. Reach is also seeking Volunteer Advocates to help us secure coverage from 7am-5pm Monday - Friday. Volunteer Advocates are trained to provide emotional support, crisis intervention, information and resources to survivors of sexual abuse and assault in Winnebago County. Advocates provide these services over the phone or in person at a local hospital. Advocates work alongside medical and legal professionals to ensure survivors are supported while navigating these processes, reducing further trauma and re-victimization while tending to a survivor’s emotional needs. Advocates will work with nurses and law enforcement to provide wrap-around, compassionate care while a survivor receives a forensic exam and/or gives a statement to the police. Advocates respond to Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh and occasionally ThedaCare in Appleton when the survivor is from Winnebago County. Advocates must have a driver's license, car insurance and vehicle while on call. Advocates take calls through their own phones and never have to be at the Reach office while on call. Advocates are in charge of how many and which shifts they take and the schedule is very flexible. Agency: Reach Counseling Services Reach Counseling provides crisis intervention and emotional support 24/7 to survivors of sexual assault and their friends/family with the help of Volunteer Victim Advocates. Volunteer Advocates are on call nights, weekends, and holidays when the Reach office is closed. Reach is also seeking Volunteer Advocates to help us secure coverage from 7am-5pm Monday - Friday. Volunteer Advocates are trained to provide emotional support, crisis intervention, information and resources to survivors of sexual abuse and assault in Winnebago County. Advocates provide these services over the phone or in person at a local hospital. Advocates work alongside medical and legal professionals to ensure survivors are supported while navigating these processes, reducing further trauma and re-victimization while tending to a survivor’s emotional needs. Advocates will work with nurses and law enforcement to provide wrap-around, compassionate care while a survivor receives a forensic exam and/or gives a statement to the police. Advocates respond to Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh and occasionally ThedaCare in Appleton when the survivor is from Winnebago County. Volunteer: Troop Leader - Waupaca AreaGirls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is seeking troop leaders for many schools, grades, and communities throughout the Fox cities, Oshkosh, Waupaca and surrounding areas. Troop Leaders plan and implement activities and mentor girls. Troops typically meet 1-2 times per month though out the school year.
