We are in need of volunteers to help us pack traditional tribal foods into boxes every other Wednesday beginning May 15th until December 4th. The goal of this project is to distribute about 2000 after each pack. Each box will contain perishable Indigenously sourced food items The packing will take place on-site at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in Appleton. 

Volunteers will meet at the Appleton Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin warehouse no later than 8:00am for the first shift that runs until 10:45am, or 11:30am for the second that runs until 2:15pm. At the start time, we will walk through what is being packed that day, and the different needs and tasks to be accomplished. 

Cooks and bakers volunteering with Living Spirit help by making and preparing lunch for 16 or making baked treats for 16 to be enjoyed at morning coffee. Lunches and baked treats can be prepared on-site in the First English Lutheran Church kitchen, or prepared off-site and delivered to the kitchen, either fresh or frozen. Cooks are encouraged to help serve lunch and clean-up afterward, but that is not required. They'll love your food, and you'll love working with them!

Support Rawhide Youth Services by assisting in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for youth and staff. Your role helps create a welcoming and nourishing environment that promotes health, connection, and positive experiences within our community.

Our Traveling Closet takes our mission on the road -- bringing FREE clothing to communities that don't have access to us or a similar resource. As a Traveling Closet Shopping Assistant volunteer, you will have the opportunity to attend our Traveling Closet events, helping clients navigate their shopping experience with ease. The role of this committee is to create and implement an annual plan that guides the organization in seeking out and securing funding from an array of sources, including fundraising events, grants and individual and corporate donors.

The committee meets the third Wednesday of the month from 5 to 6 p.m. at the CASA office, 211 E. Franklin St., Suite E, Appleton.

No previous fundraising or event planning experience is necessary, but can be helpful.

The Advisory Council serves as a critical community champion of the Community Benefit Tree. Members of the Advisory Council share their gifts in service to our mission by providing our organization with their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge of constituent perspectives; their connections, resources, colleagues or peers; their philanthropic support or other forms of needed assistance. The Advisory Council has no governing function within the organization.

CASA of the Fox Cities seeks interested members for its Board of Directors. Although previous Board membership experience is not required, we do prefer someone who has had some volunteer involvement with a nonprofit agency (committee work, for example).

Our current board member needs are for an individual who has previous experience in marketing/public relations/advertising, as well as an individual with a background in fundraising or sales.

We also encourage the involvement of men and all individuals from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds to assist us.

A passion for CASA's mission of assisting abused/neglected children within local courts is essential.

Board meetings are held at the CASA office from 5 to 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month, except for November and December, when it it held on the third Tuesday to avoid holidays. Board members are also required to serve on one of several committees, which carry out the work of the agency. Each committee is chaired by a Board member and we are in specific need of someone to chair our Marketing/PR Committee, as well as a chair for our Fundraising Committee. Total average time investment per month would be 5 to 10, depending on time of year/projects.

Board member terms are 3 years, with the opportunity to recommit to a second term upon completion of the first 3-year term.

We are already looking ahead to summer 2026 for volunteer crossing guards to assist our members with crossing the street on their way to and from the Club.

Walking School Bus assistants and substitute volunteers needed!       

What is a Walking School Bus?

A Walking School Bus (WSB) is a safe, fun, and healthy way for children to walk to school together with the guidance of caring adult volunteers. Students get fresh air and exercise, while families enjoy peace of mind knowing their children are supervised along the way.

How It Works:

A group of children meet at a set location and walk to school together on a planned route.

Adult volunteers (parents, staff, or community members) walk with the group, helping keep everyone safe and together.

The walk usually takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on the route.

The WSB runs rain or shine (except in unsafe weather conditions).

Volunteer Details:

Volunteers can commit to one or more days per week, or serve as a substitute when a leader is unavailable.

No experience is needed—just a willingness to walk and supervise students.

A brief training will be provided.

Time commitment is minimal, but the positive impact is huge!

Journey Together is a prison dog program that trains service dogs to help people with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).  Our dogs spend the majority of their time being trained by inmates at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution.  However, to have the skills needed to be a successful service dog, our puppies need exposure to public places and events.

Volunteers schedule times that work in their schedule to take the dogs to locations for public access and exposure.  Grocery stores, department stores, youth events, parks and restaurants are all examples of places the dogs need to experience.  Our volunteers select the dates and times that fit their lifestyle.

JTSD provides orientation and training to new volunteers and ongoing training opportunities as well as group outings.

Outagamie County provides volunteer drivers to help DHHS clients (children and adults) stay connected by providing transportation for rides to appointments such as child visitation, therapy, and other necessary appointments. There are both local and out of county trips available. Drivers choose what rides they want to pick up and therefore set their own schedule. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate is provided. Your commitment can make a world of difference to someone who lacks the support they deserve! Often a family member or friend will take on guardianship, however, some people do not have relatives or friends available, willing, or able to take on these responsibilities and those people need your help. Outagamie County Volunteer Services recruits community members who are willing to take on these responsibilities and match them with a person in need. Instead of people being seen as a client of a company, they are seen as a person who has someone who cares. Guardians may be in charge of the person or estate or both and will be matched based on the volunteer's preference. You will make decisions regarding the person's well-being, health, and financial interests. Guardians are court appointed so this is a long term commitment. Mileage reimbursement is available at the federal rate and the work can be completed around your schedule. Keep families connected! A volunteer family interaction supervisor monitors visits between children in alternate care and their parents. The volunteer’s role is to supervise the visit, making sure it is safe and productive. The supervisor is part of the team. You will take notes during the visit and share them with the case worker and coordinator. Transporting the child and/or parent to and from the visits is also part of the job in most cases. Visits are held at a site determined by the social worker and family and may be at the department, in the community, or in a home. Visits take place during the day, evenings, or weekends. The volunteer’s schedule is flexible and determined by the hours you want to work and the assignments you accept from the volunteer coordinator. Once a case is accepted, the schedule is consistent. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate is available. Help strengthen our community's ability to assist families in crisis and create a ripple effect of positive change!

Volunteers would be expected to maintain strict confidentiality, communicate with the assigned social worker, and complete paperwork in a timely fashion.  The families assigned to a volunteer have been screened and have been determined appropriate to be supervised by a volunteer. We offer several opportunities to volunteer virtually: 

-Bereavement Calls- Calling families of patients who have passed and providing resources to them.

-Welcome Calls- Welcoming patients and their families to St. Croix Hospice and ensuring they have everything they need

-Tuck-In Calls- Must occur every Thursday morning- Call patients who live in their own home and make sure they have everything they need for the weekend. 

-Virtual Companionship- Send cards/letters to patients in hospice care.

The Outagamie County Nutrition Program serves meals to individuals who are 60+ years old. Meals are served in two different settings: congregate and home-delivered. Congregate meals are offered at five different locations: Hortonville, Kaukauna, Oneida Heights (Appleton), Seymour, and the Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center (Appleton). Home-delivered meals are offered throughout Outagamie County.

Days and hours can be at your agreed upon discretion.

Love Lake Winnebago? Want to get outside, get your hands a little dirty, and make a real difference? Join us for one (or more!) of our Shoreline Volunteer Days at Columbia Park in Malone or Marble Park in Winneconne. We’ll be removing invasive species and helping native plants thrive—all part of our ongoing effort to restore the health and beauty of our shorelines. No gardening experience needed. Tools like gardening gloves, shovels, weed ID guides, etc. provided. Water, hat, and sunscreen recommended!

Girls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is seeking troop leaders for many schools, grades, and communities throughout the Fox cities, Oshkosh, Waupaca and surrounding areas. Troop Leaders plan and implement activities and mentor girls.  Troops typically meet 1-2 times per month though out the school year.  Meeting time and locations are flexible and can be customized based on volunteer's schedules.  We have many girls who would love to join a troop, and are just waiting for a leader to step forward!

CBC volunteers have a passion for supporting our communities and caring for others!

Blood Drive Registration is one way that you can help at the Community Blood Center. The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others. Volunteer orientation and training are provided.  As a Registration Attendant, you will value and appreciate our donors, and ensure they review the online blood donation materials and complete their personal health history questionnaire, prior to their blood donation. NO medical experienced required.

Volunteer opportunities are available on a variety of days, times, and locations, and there is no minimum or maximum number of hours for volunteering. Volunteer opportunities are regularly available in Appleton, Oshkosh, Little Chute, and in other cities and small towns throughout Northeastern Wisconsin.

Do you love talking to people and saving lives in the process? Then volunteering at The Community Blood Center is the place for you!

As a volunteer at our Little Chute site, you both check-in blood donors for their appointments and serve donors refreshments. The goal of the role is to welcome donors and ensure that donors are feeling well and healthy after their donation. 

The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others. This position is such a rewarding one as you are taking care of our donors to ensure they have a great experience and look forward to their next visit.

We have openings at our fixed-site donor centers as well as our mobile drives throughout the Fox Valley and Northeastern Wisconsin. There is no minimum number of hours you need to complete. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Share your musical talents with hospice patients!! If you play a musical instrument or enjoy singing, share your abilities with a hospice patient who enjoys music.

Visit villagers with your well behaved, trained pet that is up to date with all vacinations.

We are looking for a sweet therapy dog who you think would do well with visiting with our hospice patients. Under our pet therapy program, your specially trained dog would be able to provide companionship to our patients. Pet companionship can bring our patients a sense of peace, comfort and trust.

Dog temperament requirements:

Pet therapy volunteer program requirements: Owner must complete patient volunteer orientation.

Pet and owner must be registered with a nationally recognized animal organization (see below). Acceptable Therapy Dog Registration Organizations: Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Inc, Pet Partners, and Therapy Dogs International.

Make a difference in the lives of your neighbors, build relationships, and have fun as an English tutor! We are working with a group of 25 extremely motivated adults and need to add a class for intermediate learners.

With that, we're seeking a volunteer to teach this class one evening per week for 1 to 1.5 hours.

No need to know any other languages or for teaching experience. We provide training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support.

We are seeking a new leader for our Y-Not Chorus Group. The Y-Not Chorus is a group comprised of senior adults all with various singing abilities that want to share their love of music with others. Their main purpose is to bring joy to those is assisted living environments by providing musical performances. The group typically practices on Friday's at Gloria Dei Church in Neenah, with various performances throughout the year, especially during the holidays.

The leader of this group would be in charge of conducting, working with the pianist to choose musical selections, as well as working with the rest of the group to determine schedule and performance dates. Binder of sheet music and lyrics provided. Currently, the group practices and performs mainly in Neenah, with various performances throughout the Fox Valley.

Childcare volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Volunteers must enjoy working with kids and have strong boundaries. Our childcare program runs Mon-Thurs. nights from 6-8pm and Saturdays from 1-3pm. Volunteers sign up for any shifts that work in their lives. Help is especially needed Mon. & Tues. nights because of support groups that run at the same time. We have a childcare room, outdoor playground and art room that volunteers may use with the children.

A victim’s first point of contact is a critical step in the healing process.  As an on-call SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Volunteer, you will learn to:

Due to the extensive training, we ask volunteers for a 6 month commitment. Typically, each volunteer will be on-call two to three nights a month. Typical on-call hours are: 5:00 pm-7:00 am Monday-Friday and Weekend/Holiday hours. You do not need medical training to be a SANE Volunteer.

Actively seeking veterans who would like to support veterans and families who are on ThedaCare's Hospice Service. Activities could include administrative/clerical tasks, veteran recognition and support, socialization, companionship and supportive presence.

The House Helper volunteer position involves assisting with household tasks, and aiding the residents of Vida’s maternity home, Trinity House. The role of a House Helper is a unique position in which female volunteers are able to develop relationships with moms and children alike. This particular role requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young children. Volunteers also need to be able to be examples of God’s love and speak of God’s truth and grace.

Elder Match is a program dedicated to matching volunteers with residents living in the community 60 years or older to connect via phone calls, in-person visits, or written communications. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Josie Troullier at josiet@stpaulelders.org or 920-766-6020 Ext. 108.

Volunteers are needed to drive seniors age 60+ to shop, medical appointments, beauty shop, or visit with friends in the city of Oshkosh and in the Fox Cities communities.  This personal service is provided by a volunteer using their own car and gas.  Scheduling is flexible.  Volunteers may sign up for a 1/2 day a month or on call as needed.

All our Support Services clients receiving parenting education can request childcare for their appointment. Our childcare volunteers interact, supervise, and play with children in our on-site childcare room. This role is extremely crucial to our programming so that we can better serve our clients by providing them with the opportunity to get a break and have privacy for their appointments.

Help our staff in the PREP/PACU area.  Volunteers will assemble linen bags, make beds, fill blanket warmers, and assist the staff by preparing materials prior to a patient's surgery.  Choose 1 day a week for 3 hours.  Hours of service are Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8-11 AM.

Join us and help our customers complete their sale! Cashiers provide great customer service, educate and enforce store policies, handle money, operate a point-of-sale system, and of course, smile! Due to extra responsibility of cashiering, we require (and provide) training, and ask cashiers to commit to at least one (1) shift every other week.

Available shifts are currently Friday and Saturday from 10-2 and 2-6. Only have two hours to give? We'll take that too!

Are you passionate about recycling and looking for a way to make a direct impact on your community's green footprint? Join us as a Mobile Volunteer with Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste!

We need volunteers to help tag contaminated recycling carts. You’ll be part of a team following behind recycling trucks as they pick up curbside carts. When the driver spots items that shouldn't be in the recycling—such as plastic bags, scrap metal, electronics, or other dangerous materials—they’ll radio back to us, and you’ll place an “Oops Tag” on the cart to notify the resident.

What You’ll Do:

You'll be accompanied by an Outagamie County staff member who will handle driving. This is a great chance to help improve local recycling efforts and make a positive environmental impact!
