Needs From: Get Connected - Volunteer Fox Cities

The Waupaca County Resource Fair offers connections with over 30 local programs for Waupaca County residents. They offer free (first come first served) family photos, haircuts, groceries, lunch, health screenings & more. 

We would like to set up a Habitat booth to share information about our programs: Almost Home, Homebuyer, and Home Repair. We will provide you with the information and materials that you'll need.

Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026

Time: Organization Networking is 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; Open to public is 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please arrive at 8:00 AM for setup. Taking down will take approximately 30 minutes.

The Waupaca Area Triathlon is successful because of the support of over 100 volunteers annually.  We have a variety of opportunity to get involved based on your area of interest and time.

The Waupaca Regional Recycling Center is seeking volunteers to help collect data on who is utilizing the recycling center. This information will help better understand community use before and during the summer months.

Available Volunteer Shifts

Volunteers are needed for 2–4 hour slots on the following dates:

- Monday, July 6 | 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

- Saturday, July 11 | 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

- Saturday, September 19 | 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Volunteer Requirements

- Able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift

- Comfortable interacting verbally with recycling center users

- Able to record responses accurately on paper using a clipboard

Volunteer Role

Volunteers will politely ask users brief questions, collect responses verbally, and mark answers on a simple data collection form. Training and instructions will be provided.

How to Sign Up
Please register for one (or more) shift(s) based on your availability.

If you are only able to volunteer for a portion of the scheduled shift (minimum of two hours), please indicate this in the Notes section during sign-up, including your anticipated arrival time.

Your participation is greatly appreciated and will contribute directly to improved planning and service delivery for the Waupaca Regional Recycling Center.

Veteran Hospice volunteers are needed to support Veteran patients and their families. These volunteers provide socialization and companionship which includes listening or simply being a loving presence. This unique need specifically supports our We Honor Veterans Vet-to-Vet program.  Specific locations are based on your preferences, throughout our Northeast Wisconsin service area, or the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.  Reach out if you'd like to learn more!

Assist the team at the Waupaca Area Chamber & Visitor Bureau with managing the visitor center. Tasks may include answering phones, providing referrals for area businesses, events, or activities, coordinating brochures in the visitor center, selling gift certificates to members of the public, and other general office duties.

Position Overview

Bethany is seeking friendly, dependable volunteers to help with one of our residents’ favorite activities, Bingo! 

Ideal Candidate

·      A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.

·      Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with the elderly, including those with hearing or memory loss.

·      Reliability and consistency in attendance.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Active Participation: Help create a welcoming environment by greeting residents and socializing.

·      Collaboration: Work with Bethany staff to identify residents interested in attending Bingo.

·      Resident Transportation: Assist residents in wheelchairs or walkers from their rooms to the game room. (helpful but not required)

Time Commitment

Shifts are currently available on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

The shift begins at 1:30pm and ends at approximately 3:15pm. 

All volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB test. 

Position Overview

Bethany has several church services held throughout the week at the Bethany Chapel. Volunteers are needed to help bring residents to and from church services. 

Ideal Candidate

·      A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.

·      Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with the elderly, including those with hearing or memory loss.

·      Reliability and consistency in attendance.

·      Candidates must be independent, physically able to push wheelchairs.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Resident Transportation: Assist residents in wheelchairs or walkers from their rooms to the chapel.

·      Active Participation: Help create a welcoming environment by greeting residents and socializing.

·      Collaboration: Work with Bethany staff to identify residents interested in attending services.

Time Commitment

Shifts are currently available on Wednesday and Sunday mornings.  

The shift begins at 10:00 am and ends at approximately 12:00 pm. 

All volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB test.

Waupaca Area All-Stars is a recreational program designed for individuals ages 5-18 with physical and/or mental disabilities. We host dozens of events throughout the year, such as art workshops, wheelchair basketball, bowling, pizza night, swimming, and lots more! Volunteers are an integral part of this program from working 1:1 with the youth to helping lead events.

Girls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is seeking troop leaders for many schools, grades, and communities throughout the Fox cities, Oshkosh, Waupaca and surrounding areas. Troop Leaders plan and implement activities and mentor girls.  Troops typically meet 1-2 times per month though out the school year.  Meeting time and locations are flexible and can be customized based on volunteer's schedules.  We have many girls who would love to join a troop, and are just waiting for a leader to step forward!
