Volunteer: Volunteers Needed for Appleton High School Students for Reality Check

Appleton Area School District and Community First Credit Union are once again partnering to bring Reality Check to Appleton schools. Reality Check is a financial education simulation that provides high school students with hands-on life experience in budgeting while giving them a fun and safe environment to learn how financial choices and career selections can impact their future.

After completing Reality Check, students consistently respond that their attitude about money has changed. They report leaving with a more realistic understanding of the cost of living and an improved sense of being financially prepared for the future.

The reason this works so well for students is they learn first-hand from the experience of community business representatives like yourself. Reality Check volunteers play an important part in the simulation, explaining options to students, helping them make selections and taking “payments” where necessary.

This eye-opening experience for young people isn’t possible without the generous assistance of community members like you. Can we count on you to help our area students?

Dates, times and locations are as follows:

Appleton North - Tuesday, April 14 from 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Appleton West- Thursday, April 16 from 7:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Appleton East - Tuesday, April 21 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Please consider joining us as a table host volunteer to assist students for one or more of the dates.

Click here to register as a volunteer by April 2.

Volunteer: National Rebuilding Day - Fox Cities

National Rebuilding Month began in 1973 in Midland, TX when neighbors came together to repair homes for those who needed a hand. What started as “Christmas in April” grew into Rebuilding Together — a nationwide movement that now mobilizes volunteers year-round to make homes and community spaces safe, healthy, and welcoming.

Here in Northeast Wisconsin, Rebuilding Together Fox Valley brings that spirit to life through National Rebuilding Day. Many nonprofits struggle to find funding to repair or refresh their spaces — and that’s where volunteers make an incredible difference. By teaming up with local businesses and community members, we roll up our sleeves and transform spaces that serve our neighbors every day.

Big news for 2026: we’re expanding the impact with a new Green Bay National Rebuilding Day! We’re honored to continue the legacy of Rebuilding Together Greater Green Bay in a fresh and exciting way.
