The Town of Wolf River is seeking volunteers to assist with flood cleanup efforts this weekend. With approximately 100 homes impacted, volunteers are needed to support recovery efforts as conditions allow.

Why This Matters

Cleanup efforts will continue as conditions improve, and volunteer support can help residents begin the recovery process.

Volunteer Shifts

Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Volunteers are welcome to stay for a full shift or help for as many hours as they’re able.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Cleanup needs will depend on how much water has receded. Tasks may include:

• Removing debris from homes (if accessible)

• Moving sandbags away from houses

• Clearing outdoor debris damaged by flooding

No set volunteer limit—additional volunteers are welcome as needs may change.

What to Bring

• Work gloves

• Closed-toed shoes or rubber boots

• Weather-appropriate clothing

• Optional: sunscreen and bug spray

On-Site Support

Town of Wolf River staff and leadership will be on-site each day to provide direction.

Volunteers will receive instructions upon arrival.

A liability waiver will be provided and completed at the Town Hall upon arrival.

Safe cleanup requires proper protective gear, disinfecting supplies, and drying equipment to prevent illness and long-term damage. Leaders in Fremont are collecting essential supplies to help residents clean safely, protect their health, and begin rebuilding our community. Every item on this list will go directly to families here in Fremont.

This list will be updated frequently to reflect the most urgent priorities, so every contribution truly helps where it’s needed most. Right now, fans and dehumidifiers are critical. Many homes are facing ongoing water damage, and without proper drying, the risk of mold and further loss increases every day. We recognize these items come at a higher cost, and we don’t take that lightly, every single contribution, whether it’s purchasing an item or helping share this list, means more than we can put into words. We are so grateful for the support, strength, and compassion being shown. Together, we will get through this and rebuild, safely, carefully, and as a community."

Our local libraries are coming together for a regional Flood Relief Drive. 

Libraries are collecting the following items:

Supplies can be dropped off during regular library hours and will be delivered to affected communities for as long as needs exist. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.

Volunteers are needed to prepare meals and also to serve meals.
