NOAHH (Neighbors Offering A Helping Hand) is a partnership between community members and Outagamie County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to assist DHHS clients to meet their needs. NOAHH partners are generally organizations with a membership base, but individuals are welcome as well.

Here's how it works:

A county worker alerts the Volunteer Coordinator to a need. The coordinator then reaches out to NOAHH partners to help fulfill that need. Needs may include new or gently used furniture, kitchen items, bedding, clothes, etc. There is no time commitment - just share the need with friends and coworkers to help find the needed item. Men who like to sing, but only have a shower for a stage - have you ever wondered what it’s like to perform on a real stage? Here’s a chance to find out! 

You are invited to join multiple choruses on stage for one night at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. We invite our community to experience the thrill of performing songs with the fellowship of 200-plus men.

We are in need of light grounds maintenance, primarily pulling weeds during the summer months, helping water plants in the summer and keeping shrubs and trees trimmed.  Also sidewalk sweeping, and window washing once in awhile. 

Volunteers help process items that are donated to our thrift store. Tasks include cleaning each item, checking to see if the item is in good condition and working properly, and labeling with the proper store code. This is a good opportunity for families, individuals or groups of all ages to work together. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Flexible in hours- 8am-5pm during store hours or can do after hours as well. With groups, families or individuals.

To assist with the rental/ resale/re-purpose store items. Duties
include: Assist in cleaning, organizing, and keeping inventory of items.
Putting together rental orders for pick up as well as packaging of
Online resale store items.  Checking customers out.
QUALIFICATIONS: Like or Love to clean and organize. Work in a
group or as an individual.
TIME COMMITMENT: There are shift/day opportunities or we can customize
to your availability.
Monday-Friday we are here 8am-5pm. You pick the times and days.

Our biggest holiday need is supporting our adopted families through the gift of 2X and 3X clothes, socks, and undergarments so that they can stay warm and cozy this holiday season.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at our office (211 E. Franklin St., Suite A, Appleton) Monday–Thursday between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

Purpose: The Breakfast Host provides breakfast services each morning as clients leave shelter for the day. The Breakfast Host can utilize donated items in shelter, such as produce, leftovers, eggs, cereals, oatmeal and pastries, or they can choose to provide & prepare a hot breakfast for clients. The Breakfast Host allows the Shelter Client Advocates freedom to provide individual case management to the 55+ clients in shelter and focus on other aspects of shelter operation in the early morning hours.

Purpose: To provide a healthy & nutritious meal for clients staying in a Pillars shelter. This opportunity is open to remote/off-site volunteers willing to drop-off or deliver the meal, but also open to individuals or groups to prepare on-site as well.

Location: The Dinner Provider is a volunteer role at 2 Pillars’ locations;

Assist in the preparation, service, and clean up of the noon and supper meal program.  Volunteers needed Monday through Friday 9AM-1PM and Sunday 10:30-1PM

Groups or individuals are welcome to volunteer.

Stock pantry shelves, sort donated food items and help clients select the food they need. Volunteers needed from 9AM-12:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Primarily, volunteers help by sorting donated merchandise. Volunteers also help with placing merchandise on the sales floor as well as pulling merchandise from the floor. Generally, our volunteer hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 4pm at both of our locations.

SOAR Fox Cities is an agency that offers social, recreational, and educational programming to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our participants are incredible, our staff is friendly, and our activities are so much fun!

SOAR Fox Cities hosts dances once a month. Volunteers are needed to socialize with and help serve our participants.

Join us and aid in the artful removal of donations from residential and commercial buildings! Help remove a full kitchen set or empty out a retail store! All salvaged items are then brought to and sold at the ReStore to raise funds  for Habitat for Humanity.

Deconstructions are typically scheduled Monday, Wednesdays from 8am-12pm.

We have equipment that we use at each of our family’s fundraisers or
rental items that at times need to be repaired, painted, or created. Along with
re-purposing of items to sell in our Online store. We need individuals
who are good with either fixing things and/or good with building/
working with wood, crafty, like to paint, etc…

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of painting, mechanical, crafty, creative
and good with wood would be helpful but required.

TIME COMMITMENT: Assist as needed basis for specific projects/
repairs.

Volunteer at Celebration of Support events assisting with raffles, silent auctions, kids games, bake sale, serving food, grilling, etc. Volunteer opportunities would depend on the day and type of the event.

Volunteer by yourself, as a family, as a group from church, school, civic club or through work.

Qualifications: Love to help others and work with others to support someone in need!

Time Commitment: You choose event and what area and time you would like to help.

Age: 12 and up (age 12 to 14 must be accompanied by an adult)

Grandview Townhomes is a property under the Appleton Housing Authority, and it could use your help to look its best! We need volunteers to help the Appleton Housing Authority tidy up the landscaping and grounds of Grandview Townhomes, both for our residents and those passing by.

We are in need of volunteers willing to come in weekly to do our residents fingernails.  No cutting or trimming required, just filing and painting.

Emergency Services as needed when Disaster strikes.  Salvation Army is one of the largest responders to local and national events.  Training provided.  Volunteers needed on call basis.
