Who We Are

We are the Outagamie County Mentoring Program.

We have been matching kids with positive adult role models for nearly 50 years!

We know that kids who meet regularly with a mentor...

- have IMPROVED school attendance, grades and behaviors

- have IMPROVED mental health

- are MORE LIKELY to graduate high school

- are LESS LIKELY to use drugs and alcohol

Our mission is to provide kids with adult mentors who will inspire and empower them to succeed and make positive choices for their futures!

What We Do

Outagamie County Mentoring serves the kids in the community who need us the most.

We match these kids with VOLUNTEER MENTORS who...

  • Expose them to new and positive experiences that enhance self-esteem & improve social skills
  • Listen without judgement and develop a trusting relationship
  • Serve as a role model and encourage positive decision-making
  • Spend a minimum of 4 hours each month with their mentee
  • Engage in positive activities and have FUN!

Mentors are matched with kids based on common interests, personality, the mentor's and child's needs/preferences and geographic location.  Mentors are provided with training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to attend several group outings with other mentor matches throughout the year.

Youth participate in the mentoring program is voluntary. The kids currently on our waiting list all want mentors, and their parents are supportive of them participating in the program.
