St. Joseph Food Program

Who We Are

Mission: To supplement nutritional needs, free of charge, for the economically distressed within our local communities.

Fighting hunger. Sustaining hope.

St. Joe's Food Program is a private, non-profit, non-denominational, Christian-based organization that has been serving the Fox Valley since 1982, providing supplemental weekly nutrition to food insecure households.

What We Do

Each week, over 600 households come to St. Joe’s Food Program for their food needs. In addition to those who drive up to our distribution windows, we also provide food weekly to other pantries and agencies that provide food or meals to at-risk individuals and families. SJFP touches over 6,000 lives each week.

We run various programs to advance our mission:

  • Champ Meal distribution
  • Food Farmacy
  • Grow a Row for St. Joe's
  • Backpack Food Assistance Program
  • Outreach Services

With over 150 volunteer opportunities available each week, you are sure to find a volunteer experience that is fun and fulfilling for you. Opportunities include packing and distributing groceries to individual households, pantries and nonprofit agencies, as well as assisting clients outdoors to load groceries. Volunteers also serve as client interviewers, receptionists, and delivery drivers (these opportunities require additional training).

Typically, volunteer opportunities are available on:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays (8:00 AM – 12:15 PM)
  • Monday evenings (3:30 PM – 6:45 PM)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays (10:00 AM – 1:15PM)
