Who We Are

Mission: To help girls recognize their potential and rise above limiting gender expectations.

Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Girls on the Run programs are about so much more than running – they make an impact at a critical age when confidence and physical activity decline.

Girls on the Run of Northeast Wisconsin was founded in April 2012 and represented 3 area counties. What began as 1 team of 14 girls and has since grown to over 35 sites servicing over 430 girls in the six counties of Brown, Calumet, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Waupaca and Winnebago.

What We Do

At Girls on the Run, we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind.

Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games.

Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.

The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
