CENTER for SUICIDE - 2018 “RIDE to END SUICIDE POKER FUN RUN”
Nearly 45,000 people died in the U.S in 2016 by suicide and that number continues to rise in nearly every state including Wisconsin. Nationally, deaths by suicide now surpass deaths by influenza, pneumonia, and vehicle crashes.
One loved one lost by suicide is one too many.
Be part of the Center for Suicide Awareness 2018 RIDE to END SUICIDE POKER FUN RUN as we join together bringing suicide awareness, prevention, resources, and hope to our communities!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
- All types of “riders” are encouraged to participate – motorcyclists, cars, street legal vehicles
- To participate in the Poker Game, participants must be 21 yrs. of age or older.
- Call the numbers below to pick-up a FREE booklet listing several participating businesses (restaurants and taverns) across our area. Simply visit the businesses listed and have your booklet stamped at each stop.
- Riders will enjoy several weeks to visit these businesses as they work towards getting at least 20 stops counted qualifying them to participate in the Poker Game.
- A Poker Run Party to celebrate everyone’s efforts will be held on Sunday, August 26th, where food and fun will be served! TIME: 1:00 – 6:00 pm at Tanner’s Bar, 730 S. Railroad St. – Kimberly. Poker drawing starts at 1:00 pm. with hand awards starting at 5:00 pm. Admission is simply a donation of any amount at the door.
