CAP Services is hosting a poverty simulation at the Appleton Public Library on January 25 1:30-4:30.
The simulation is an excellent hands-on opportunity for both the participants to obtain first-hand knowledge of situations and decisions experienced by low-income households, as well as discuss the potential for change within their community.
Registered simulation participants will assume a role in a family and receive back-ground information such as income and expenses. Participants will then work toward goals, which include paying bills, feeding children, going to work and accessing community support.
