Volunteers Needed!
We are in need of volunteers to support our fourth graders during their JA BizTown Experience. The most critical need is on May 6th with Horizons Elementary School; however, if you would like to volunteer for another AASD trip there are many to choose from. JA BizTown Overview
JA BizTown is a day-long visit to a fully interactive, simulated town. 4th-6th grade students have already completed 13 classroom lessons to prepare for their day. They have each interviewed for and accepted a position for a job that they will assume upon arrival. Students will work together to run their individual businesses while managing their own finances and experiencing the flow of the economy. They are producers in the morning and consumers in the afternoon. This is a great day of learning in all three pillars of JA programming: Career Exploration, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship. Volunteers will help a small group of students write checks, make bank deposits, lead staff meetings, understand their jobs all while providing encouragement and ensuring that students have a great day.
Schedule: Volunteer arrival is at 8:30 am. Students arrive at 9:30 am and the day will conclude at 2:00 pm
