Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable volunteer to provide respite care and support for individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or special needs. This role gives primary caregivers an opportunity to rest, attend appointments, or take personal time while knowing their loved one is in a safe and caring environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and supervision while at Valley VNA.
- Engage individuals in enjoyable activities such as games, crafts, reading, walks, or conversation.
- Assist with light, non-medical tasks as needed.
- Encourage a safe, positive, and supportive environment.
- Communicate with caregivers regarding activities and any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Caring, patient, and reliable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with individuals of various ages and abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
- Background check is required.
Time Commitment:
First Friday day of every month in the afternoon, starts at 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
