This year marks the 30th License to Cruise® event and the 40th Appleton’s Octoberfest community celebration to raise funds for local non-profits.
We need your help! These events cannot happen without volunteer support.
We have several volunteer opportunities available… and you get a free t-shirt.
Bartenders
Several shifts are available at various locations on College Avenue. You do not need a licensed bartender, but you must be 21. Volunteers pour or serve beer to the festival attendees.
Available shifts:
-2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
-*3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.*
*Biggest need for volunteers

Bar Managers
One licensed bar manager must be behind the bar at all times. Bar managers are responsible for observing, monitoring, and assisting. They do not pour or serve beer. If not currently licensed, bar managers must obtain a license from the City of Appleton. License fees will be reimbursed.
Shifts at each bar:
-8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Check-in Personnel
Check-in personnel are located at a specific bar and are responsible for checking in volunteer bartenders, and reviewing rules, policies, and procedures with the volunteers. After giving them a volunteer t-shirt, they hand the volunteer off to the bar manager.

-11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Access Code: checkin
Block Captains
Block captains are assigned to a particular block on College Avenue. Their role is to monitor the set-up and take-down of non-profit food booths, answer questions from the public (example: location of music stages and food booths, Arts & Crafts questions, medical facilities, etc.)
Available shifts:
- 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
