A victim’s first point of contact is a critical step in the healing process. As an on-call SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Volunteer, you will learn to:
- accompany victims to emergency rooms, hospitals and/or police stations
- guide victims through evidence collection and legal process
- provide compassionate understanding and emotional support
Due to the extensive training, we ask volunteers for a 6 month commitment. Typically, each volunteer will be on-call two to three nights a month. Typical on-call hours are: 5:00 pm-7:00 am Monday-Friday and Weekend/Holiday hours. You do not need medical training to be a SANE Volunteer.
