Purpose: To provide a healthy & nutritious meal for clients staying in a Pillars shelter. This opportunity is open to remote/off-site volunteers willing to drop-off or deliver the meal, but also open to individuals or groups to prepare on-site as well.
Location: The Dinner Provider is a volunteer role at 2 Pillars’ locations;
- Pillars Adult Shelter; 1928 W. College Avenue, Appleton, WI 54914
- Pillars Adult & Family Shelter; 400 N. Division Street, Appleton, WI 54911
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare & deliver/drop-off the meal for 55 - 60 clients.
- Meal should be “ready-to-eat” or have little prep needed after drop-off.
- Provide a healthy & nutritious meal.
- Entrée
- Side dish
- Fruit and/or vegetable
- Dessert (optional)
Shift Times:
- Adult & Family Shelter drop-off between 4:45 and 5pm
- Adult Shelter drop-off between 5:15 and 5:30pm
Homemade meals typically cost volunteers between $150 - 250 to purchase ingredients. Is that too much of a financial commitment? Share the love! Gather your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, or whoever you know to share the load!
